THE PROJECT
Les Deux Magots, in detail.
Les Deux Magots is a Parisian café with literary history dating to the 1880s — the regular table of Sartre, Hemingway, Picasso, Camus. Its first international location is on the first floor of Via Riyadh, overlooking the fountain. Ironwood designed and delivered the interior.
Translating a Saint-Germain café into Saudi luxury dining without flattening either tradition was the brief. The room reads as Parisian — red leather curved banquettes, long sofas, heritage millwork detailing — but at proportions that work for Saudi hospitality: more generous, warmer, calibrated for both the lunch hour and the late evening. Acoustic character was tuned for the specific hum of confident conversation. Lighting layered to handle a long evening, the room transforming naturally from afternoon café to evening restaurant. Capacity 104 across indoor and outdoor seats, with a view onto the fountain. Delivered turnkey end-to-end.
