THE PROJECT

Bedu, in detail.

Bedu is a Saudi-cuisine restaurant in Riyadh — the food traditional, the space contemporary. We designed the interior to hold both ideas at once: rooted enough to honor the cuisine, modern enough to read as today's Saudi hospitality.

Saudi food at its best is generous, communal, and unhurried — and the space has to support that without leaning on cliché. We avoided motif and pastiche entirely; identity came from proportion, scale, and material substance. Limestone, hand-formed plaster, locally sourced timber. Layouts designed for shared dining and longer sittings. Acoustic character tuned to keep conversations intimate even at full service. The result is a restaurant that reads as Saudi from the moment a guest crosses the threshold — without a single referenced motif on the walls.

A restaurant project in mind?

We design for the first impression, the third visit, and the tenth.
